The Humane Education program nurtures a sense of responsibility, empathy, and compassion in students, inspiring them to care for animals in need while promoting respect for all living beings. Through engaging lessons and activities, students learn the importance of kindness, the ethical treatment of animals, and the role they can play in creating a more compassionate world.

Paws & Pals Programs:
Classroom Advocates
Classroom Advocates allows your classroom to “adopt” a long-term shelter dog from Paws Humane Society. Students select a dog, receive updates and photos, and participate in activities like writing letters or creating videos to help promote the dog for adoption. The program fosters empathy, strengthens the classroom community, and supports local shelters by advocating for the welfare of homeless animals. Email our Volunteer Coordinator to get started at education@pawshumane.org

Service Days | Projects
Paws Humane Society welcomes Middle and High School students seeking volunteer hours. During our service days, participants engage in various projects that support Paws Humane while gaining insights into animal sheltering. They learn about the challenges dogs and cats face in a shelter environment and discover ways to enhance their well-being, ensuring their experience is as positive, healthy, and stress-free as possible. Email volunteer@pawshumane.org to get started.
